Pipe and section cutting

We cut steel pipes with diameters from 60 to 650 mm. The machine guides the torch in three axes, so besides straight cuts we make mitres, saddle cuts and cut-outs for connections.

  • Pipes with diameters from 60 to 650 mm
  • 2D and 3D cutting — mitres, saddle cuts, cut-outs
  • Edge prepared for welding, with no second operation

We accept DXF, DWG and STEP files — no conversion needed on your side.

Pipe cutting specifications

Pipes are cut on the same machine that cuts plates — the STIGAL PROMaster 3D.

Why three axes change the maths

A pipe cut square is only the beginning of the work. What really eats up time is fitting one pipe to another — trial fits, the grinder and corrections at the welding station.

  • We cut the saddle shape straight away, from the drawing
  • Holes for branch stubs and penetrations are made in the same setup
  • The edge comes out bevelled, so the welder starts with welding

What cuts we make on a pipe

From a simple cut to length to a shape fitted to another pipe.

Straight cut

Perpendicular to the pipe axis, to the specified length.

Mitre cut

At the angle from the drawing — for corner joints and structural nodes.

Saddle cut

A cut-out shaped to fit another pipe — the components go together without fitting on site.

Holes and cut-outs

For branch stubs, penetrations and connections — made in the same setup.

Sections

We cut steel sections across the full range of profiles — besides pipes we process I-beams, channels, angles and flat bars.

Cutting in bar lengths and at an angle

We cut sections in full commercial bar lengths up to 12 metres, and for mitre cutting at 45° and 60° we have a separate band saw. We have described this on a separate page so as not to repeat it here.

Frequently asked questions

What pipe diameters do you cut?

From 60 to 650 mm.

Do you cut pipes at an angle?

Yes. The machine works in three axes, so it makes mitre cuts and saddle cuts according to the drawing.

What is a saddle cut?

It is a cut-out in a pipe shaped to fit another pipe. Thanks to it, the components go together without fitting on site.

Is the edge prepared for welding?

Yes, the bevel is made in the same pass as the cut.

What sections do you process?

HEB 100–600 beams, HP 60–430 sections, channels, angles, flat bars up to 400 × 35 mm and hollow sections.

What material do you cut?

Carbon steel. The material can be supplied by you or by us — we agree on this at the quotation stage.

How much does it cost?

Every job is priced individually — the price depends on the diameter, wall thickness, number of cuts and quantity. We send the quote within 24 hours.
